RunNUS 2012

RunNUS is an annual running event organized by the NUS Students Sports Club to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst the NUS community and the public.

Already in its sixth year since its inception, it has become one of the most important events held in NUS for its students, staff and alumni to stay bonded and rediscover the school heritage. The number of registered participants was almost 2000 in the past year.

Being the first major sports event in every academic year, it offers an opportunity for freshmen to explore and have a better understanding of NUS. It also creates a valuable time for the alumni to reconnect with their lovely alma mater.

Since 2010, RunNUS has been a partner of the NUS Annual Giving Campaign, which is an annual donation drive of NUS alumni and charitable individuals or organizations. The proceeds from the registration fees will be channeled to the NUS Annual Giving Campaign. Interested individuals are strongly encouraged to stay supportive of our fundraising efforts by pledging a runner in our races. These donations will go to the NUS university-wide bursaries and scholarship fund, enabling the needy students to pay for their university education.

Not forgetting the element of fun, RunNUS also brings in a carnival that offers a variety of on-stage entertainment including band performances, mini games, lucky draws and refreshments throughout the event, making it an exciting event that engages everyone.
